NC Blogger Network was founded by Allison Carter and Nikol Murphy in the Summer of 2014.
After attending multiple blogger events and engaging in many NC-based blogger forums, they realized there were so many wonderful blog-related opportunities in North Carolina that other bloggers should know about so, they embarked on a mission to unite and share all the phenomenal happenings around the state. We think they did a great job! Let’s meet our founders…
Allison Barrett Carter
Allison freelances in blog writing, copywriting, editing, content management, content marketing, social media marketing, and SEO for organizations of all sizes.
She founded and built the blog “Mom in Chapel Hill”, which in 4 years skyrocketed to thousands of followers across various social media platforms, an email newsletter with paid sponsorships, and over 5,500 page views a week. In 2013 she was able to transfer that site to new ownership for a profit share.
As a freelance creative writer, she maintains a presence at Allison Barrett Carter. Her parent-related pieces have appeared online at Scary Mommy, Project Underblog, Felicity’s Huffmann’s What The Flicka?!, Mom365, and Mamapedia and in three print anthologies.
She has presented on the power of blogging to various conferences and organizations. EVERYONE can blog. She helps people figure out how to make it happen for them.
Founding NC Blogger Network with Nikol was an act of passion and she has helped unite the unique, talented voices of bloggers all over NC into one powerful voice.
Founder of a live online broadcast company, Nikol has been recognized as an industry leader in the concept of directing event media during live events.
After deciding to homeschool her two elementary school-age boys, her company has been reinvented to an online media house. The companies first project Mom Complicated was launched in January of 2014. Together with her sister, they share how to make motherhood and life less complicated. Free Homeschool Printable a website dedicated to sharing free education printables for preschool through middle school age children, launched in August 2014.
Nikol believes you need to work hard, be accountable, have fun and never take yourself too seriously. Always try new things and do not let anyone tell you that you “can’t”.
She has been a public evangelist for Google+ and has spoken on how to harness the power of Google+ for your business across the country.
